For example, the duration from February 20 to March 20 is typically treated as one month. However, from February 28 to March 31, there are two common interpretations. If we count February 28 to March 28 as a full month, the remaining period is 3 days. Alternatively, if both dates are treated as month-ends, the result could be rounded to one month exactly. Both approaches are valid and commonly used. Similar situations can occur with dates like April 30 to May 31 or May 30 to June 30. This ambiguity arises because months have different lengths. In this calculator, the first method is used—counting exact month increments from the start date.
